VEER

VEER
Watch online Part 1
Watch online Part 2
Veer has been getting very bad reviews from everywhere but in-spite of that it has taken a grand opening especially at single screens. Salman khan had urged his fans on Social networking site, to boycott the movie critics
This is what Trade Analyst Taran adarsh had to say about Veer movie Box office report
Salman Khan’s VEER opened exactly like WANTED. The film opened very well at single screens of North India specifically [Uttar Pradesh, C.P., C.I. and Rajasthan single screens were excellent], but the response at multiplexes was a contrast, in 30% to 40% range at several screens.
The two factors that went in favour of WANTED were [i] superb reviews, with most critics loving the film and [ii] the all-round entertainment that WANTED had to offer. In this case [VEER], the reviews have been outright negative and the public response ranges from good to average to terrible. Meaning, the word of mouth is very, very mixed. Also, the entertainment quotient is lower than WANTED.
VEER has to perform exceedingly well in its first two weeks to recover its huge investment. Let’s wait and watch if the business shows a big jump in the coming days and the big-budget film maintains its pace at the ticket window for two complete weeks.

Veer Box office report by Boxoffice India
Veer had a bumper first day at single screens with 80-100% collections while multiplexes had average collections on day one. Multiplexes in metroes like Mumbai and Delhi had first day collections of around 50% while Bangalore was worst with 30%. But multiplexes in places like Jaipur, Kota, Nagpur, Agra and Indore were very good with 70-80% collections. Overall the first day can be called good. The reports are mixed but with a holiday it should put up good first week numbers. The first day collections in places like Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan are huge.

My Name Is Khan

Mayank Shekhar : Hindustan TimesA commercially successful, massively scaled mainstream film that doesn’t just make a song and dance of it all could certainly change Bollywood forever. Of all, I’m glad Johar also made that move. Sure, this movie’s a risk. Shouldn’t each be anyway?
Gaurav Malani : INDIATIMES MOVIESLike his placard that reads ‘Repair almost anything’, Shah Rukh Khan makes up for every minor inconsistency in the film. My Name is Khan is worth a watch on his name alone.
india-server.com‘My Name is Khan’ is definitely a movie of substance and is a must watch for both Shah Rukh’s fans and the ones wanting to see a logical nice movie!
Anupama Chopra : movies.ndtv.comRizwan is undeniably the best thing about My Name is Khan. Shah Rukh’s performance has little subtlety about it – for that watch Hugh Dancy doing Asperger’s in Adam – but it is heartfelt, endearing and more controlled than anything he’s ever done before. Watch him in a lovely scene in which Kajol accepts his proposal or how he restrains his tears so that his eyes brim but never well over.I recommend that you see Khan for him. The film itself is too uneven to give us the emotional high we were waiting for.
Mihir Fadnavis : India.comDirector Karan Johar, the visionary that he is, injects new life into the stale Bollywood drama genre by introducing a mentally handicapped leading man and his loving wife, only to pull the rug from under us by transposing their roles when you least expect it. The acting is expectedly over the top, but MNIK thankfully does not completely reduce SRK, one of the best screen actors of all time, to a mugging embarrassment. Shahrukh really tries hard to dole up a studied, thoughtful performance, but the story is just terrible and written, no doubt, to accommodate several agendas. The ploy works, for SRK’s Rizwan Khan WILL melt fans’ hearts and leave them chanting, ‘Filmfare award! Filmfare award!! Get this guy a Filmfare award!!’
Taran Adarsh : Bollywoodhungama.comOn the whole, MY NAME IS KHAN is a fascinating love story, has an angle of religion and a world-shaking incident as a backdrop. It not only entertains, but also mesmerises, enthrals and captivates the viewer in those 2.40 hours. At the same time, a film like MY NAME IS KHAN is sure to have a far-reaching influence due to its noble theme. I strongly advocate, don’tmiss this one!
Shweta Parande : ibnlive.in.comMy Name is Khan is unlike any other Karan Johar-directed film, although it has glimpses of his past work. It does not have masala, no mindless song and dance, and no comic fillers. It has a very strong main message, and several others tucked in.KJo has sure come a long way from candyfloss.
Raja Sen : movies.rediff.comMy Name Is Khan is a film that will have the galleries cheering and making sure there aren’t many dry eyes in the house. The applause will ring wild and while many might complain that Johar has simply ditched old movie cliches for more American ones, none can argue that the segue seems surprisingly seamless.Karan Johar’s finally made his first grown-up film, and made it well. It could have been the stuff of much more, but let us leave that for another day. This is a film that will inspire, make aware, make happy.
Amit Tiwari : Samaylive.comA fascinating love storyThe film ‘My name Is Khan’ is prestigious project for Karan Johar as a director. After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Ghum, Johar once again returned with SRK-Kajol pair on celluloid.MNIK’s success will be proved as a landmark in Karan Johar’s directorial career.
Harshita Kohli : Starboxoffice.com
Kajol is brilliant and this time her eyes do a lot more tlaking than her words. Watch out for the change in emotions reflected so beautifully in her eyes as the film goes through its turmoils. The screenplay clearly shows that both Shibani Bathija and Karan Johar have done their research and done it well. You can see that in SRK’s mannerisms and in the bigger picture. But the true credit of the film goes to only one person – Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan carries the story entirely on his shoulder without any crutches of make-up and prosthetics, his signature lover boy image left at the door along with the designer clothes or larger than life dialogues.

It looks as if present directors are very much inspired by movies made by Hrishikesh Mukherjee & Basu Chatterjee. Both of these yester-years directors portray simple kind of stories & that all in simplistic mannerism. Toh Baat Pakki movie’s director Kedarh Shinde, seems to be simply inspired by these veterans great works & he tries to portray story which is easily identifiable & humor dipped too.
But the movie Toh Baat Pakki is not that stimulating as we could expect it to be. Although the movie has wonderful incidents, some yester-year kind of charm but mainly humor at many moments falls simply flat, especially towards scenes near the ending of the story.
A single line to express regarding the movie: It’s a half-baked cuisine!
Rajeshwari, role played by Tabu, is the wife of Vinay, role played by Ayub Khan. They dreams to marry Rajeshwari’s sister Nisha, role played by Yuvika Choudhary, to get her married to the highly suitable groom within Saxena community. Rajeshwari (Tabu) is extremely against the dowry system.
Then Rajeshwari finds up a nicely suitable Saxena boy who is doing engineering & has got promising future prospects. The guy’s name is Rahul, role played by Sharman Joshi. Rajeshwari finds Rahul to be is a suitable guy for marrying her sister & then Rajeshwari keeps Rahul as paying guest in her home.Read more: http://www.dailylatestnews.com/2010/02/19/toh-baat-pakki-hindi-movie-review-2010-05339#ixzz0gZMC
However, when Rajeshwari got to know that this guy named Rahul is not at all interested in marriage matter, and then she smartly made plans to bring in her sister Nisha & introduce guy & girl, so that they can know each other. Rajeshwari confidently know that once Rahul meets Nisha, he cannot stop; he will proceed into marriage’s pathway. Rahul & Nisha falls in love; Rajeshwari gets happy as Rahul & Nisha’s marriage gets fixed.
Then here comes twist in the tale, when a guy named Yuvraaj, role played by Vatsal Sheth, (fame, main actor in Just Mohabbat TV show) lands up at Rajeshwari’s place. This guy named Yuvraaj is also from same Saxena community. Yuvraaj is settled with good job & waiting up to move into his own home.
After this shift in gear, Rajeshwari feels that its luck, that now GOD presented them with better prospect. Now Rajeshwari plans to fix up Nisha with Yuvraaj.
Main problem film makers’ face is that the kind of narration story-tellers tell, it may initially sound convincing & appealing but the main problem which unfolds is that portraying the story on screen proves to be unconvincing. Starring: : Shreyas Talpade, Sada, Sneha Ullal, Rehan Khan, Chunky Pandey.Direction: Sangeeth SivanMusic: Shamir TandonProduction: Sangeeth Sivan Productions , Rupali Entertainment, Pritish Nandy Communications, RNA Play Entertainment

Thanks to the producers of ‘Click’ who wasted little money on its marketing, the experience of movie viewing was really scary, being in an empty theatre-that is. After we started describing Ram Gopal Verma as the Hitchcock of Bollywood (Obviously, before his ‘Aag’ Fiasco), Mani Ratnam as the Scorsese of Indian film Industry, we are proud to refer the name of Mr.Sangeeth Sivan as the Dr.Uwe Boll of India. As after many attempts he has finally hit the bull’s eye - the perfect bad movie.‘Click’ is a remake of the Thai megahit ‘Shutter’, which had seen a Tamil and English version before. So to be exact Sangeeth Sivan got three movies to refer too, but Sivan had decided to change a few intricacies to suit the desi mindset and withhold the scary parts. The thought of putting something original onto the production of a remake is praise-worthy, but Sangeeth messes it up big time. The little bit of logical reasoning behind the original movie was taken out of this movie completely. The biggest plus point of the original was the eeriness that the movie possessed whenever it wasn't trying to scare. And here the eeriness is completely a miss and the scare was too lame to be termed that. The story is about the hidden past of a photographer trying to crawl back into his life with vengeance. Forgot to add - and the baddies get hurt, in their throat, and the hero on his shoulder. There is nothing to talk more about the movie as it is just complete nonsensical. And for the first time ever there was nothing worth mentioning too. Sangeeth Sivan, after messing the remake of the Telugu hit Athadu, messes another remake big-time. Please someone inform Sandeep Chowta that there is no need to be so loud to be scary, Silence is the best way to create the atmosphere or maybe just the sound of the mild wind. Cinematography of T.Ramji was surprisingly below standards. The print looked too grainy (I even checked with the theatre officials, if it was a pirated version!). Shamir Tandon’s music was ok, but the songs were forced into the narrative and the flow (If, the movie did have one, that is) was disrupted by it constantly. Editing was tacky and so were its special effects. Even name sharing story/ screenplay writer was unable to get my sympathies.Shreyas Talpade did not look cool enough to pull off this character, he looks confused for the first time and his wig is a complete put off. Sada’s work is decent but she suffers from a bad character sketch. Sada wearing revealing cloths did not help either. Sneha Ullal has just two lines of dialogue and then its all white dress, whiter skin and whitest lens. Chunky Pandey is horrible, a performance which makes me frown endlessly. The unique honor of my favorite horror movie and the least favorite horror movie goes for the same story. If only Sangeeth Sivan and Harish Nair were able to make a remake, this Friday would have surely ended on a happier note.
